This is one of those institutions of the neighborhood. Servers were very friendly and food was ok. But it took 40 minutes to get our food. With no explanation until the food arrived. "Big to-go order and a large party in the back room." Which we could not see from our table. Gravy was thin and so were the grits. Food was only warm. We will be back but it will take another few years or so.
Had the deluxe burger and was excellent. Just the right size Not a small, thin thawed patty, but well prepared. Servers were friendly and attentive. My friend and I are both over 80 years old and were shown patience and kindness. Much appreciated!
This a small retro-vibe shop. They have great burgers and floats. The price is great. Better than stopping off at a burger chain. I wish it stayed open longer.
Waited over hour for a BASIC order. Biscuit/gravey, bacon, two scrambled eggs and one pancake. Had to get up because another customer apparently already had our booth after we had sat for 10 minutes in the booth lol.... Literally two people cooking and our server came by maybe twice in the hour that we waited. Then one our food came out it was given to the wrong table. I will not knock the food it was not bad just if you plan to eat here set aside at minimum and hour to two hours. Really need to either get more help or limit capacity.
I worked at Jefferson fountain from 2000 to 2004.
