The mission of the McClung Museum of Natural History & Culture is to advance understanding and appreciation of the earth and its peoples through the collection, preservation, study, interpretation, and exhibition of objects and data. As a part of the University of Tennessee, the McClung Museum works to support academic programs and provide educational programming.
The McClung is a natural history and culture museum with exhibits on anthropology, geology, archaeology, human origins, history, decorative arts, ancient Egypt, and natural history. Please see our Exhibits to get a better idea of what will be on display during your visit.
The museum store carries a wide selection of unique items, including local art, jewelry, books, one-of-a-kind gift items, stationery, and educational toys, including items that pertain to our current exhibits.
Admission and parking are free
Monday–Saturday:
9 am – 5 pm
Sunday: 1 pm–5 pm
