What a great experience! We enjoyed our visit with the Llamas. The owner was very friendly and the animals were fun to pet and feed. Great for all ages.
My husband wasn't keen on the idea of paying to walk someone's pet llamas, but I don't think we'll easily forget this adventure! The llamas and alpacas all started out pretty shy and skittish, but at the end of it, we could hug our new friends. A few of us might have ended the day fighting back tears because we loved learning their quirks and personalities. The hike wasn't too strenuous, so it was good for the youngest of the family, but I don't think he would have cared how hard it was with his alpaca by his side ;)
If you truly want a unique experience, do a llama walk. Oscar was my hiking partner for the morning and he was a chill dude. And the llamas love cinnamon graham crackers!!!
What a neat and unique experience!!! The owner is extremely motivating with his stories and experiences, charismatic, down to earth and entertaining. The Llamas are as cute as can be and will make your entire group laugh with their different personalities! From their bathroom breaks, burping, spitting, snacking and rolling in the dirt…it’s really a GREAT TIME. Don’t forget to bring graham crackers, the Llamas LOVE these treats. My family of 5 (6 month old, 10 and 11 year old kids) all enjoyed it. I would rate the hike moderate but the views and laughs were endless! If you visit East Tennessee or the Smoky Mountains this is a MUST!!! After leaving the Llama Trek we were very inspired!!! Thank you for the amazing adventure! ~Family from Grand Rapids, MI
This was our first time visiting the Smoky Mountain area and my hubby found the Smoky Mountain Llama Trek. I told him I don't care if we don't do anything else we're doing this. And it didn't disappoint!!!! Steve the owner and guide was absolutely amazing and his stories were great. He was very helpful to me coming down the hills being that I'm not in the best shape held my hand whenever I needed a little bit of help. I would recommend this hike to you. We even got to feed them after the hike was over. I would definitely do it again! Thanks again Steve. Bridgette from Ohio (by the Ronald McDonald House)
