Being a CA resident and season pass holder to Big Bear & Snow Valley and I make frequent trips to Mammoth and Northstar bike parks, Windrock is Probably one of the most fun bike parks I have ever been to. The Gnar is next level. If your a traveling 1st timer like myself, I'd recommend talking to a local and ask if they'd be kind enough to show you around. It's kind of like a maze trying to stay on trail. Once you get used to the gnar, it is thorough fun and smiles throughout 🙃. Now I get why, the best riders in the world train here. Good fun!

Excellent place to go for downhill mountain biking. However, this is definitely not the place for a beginner to mountain biking. They have now put in two "beginner" runs that are only about 280 ft of elevation change instead of the normal 1100 ft. The two bunny hill runs are quite flowy and not too horribly steep. You also need to tell the driver each time to stop at the bunny hill runs but it's not horrible. However, once you get to the two full length blue runs it does get quite steep. Definitely need to have good bike control and be comfortable sitting way back on your bike. The price is not horrible at $47 for a lift ticket for the day. You can rent full suspension bikes that are pretty decent for about $130 as well if needed. I used a hardtail with 180mm rotors in the front and back. The bike is the airborne griffin and I would say that it is about the lower limit of what can be used on the trails. I stuck to the blue runs and didn't progress past that as a full suspension is almost needed for those trails. A full suspension is recommended but a hardtail is definitely doable if you are used to the bike and it had a front air fork. The best thing is if you are new to this place, start on the bunny hills and slowly progress in a safe and controlled manner.

Had a great time earning Jeep Badges for trails, 16, 26 and 51. Weather was great, trails were most dry and well marked.

Windrock is an absolutely great place to ride your side by side, 4X4, ATVs, or dirt bikes. We ride sport quads and the terrain is not exactly what you look for on those type machines. But if you have a side by side or utility quad it would be awesome.
