Ye Olde Steakhouse is a legendary family owned and operated southern landmark. Her rustic ambiance and memorable meals have beckoned patrons since 1968 serving the best Iowa grain-fed beef. The steak house has become especially well known to University of Tennessee Football fans. It's on the list of the 100 Best Things about Tennessee Football and the 100 Best Secrets of the Great Smoky Mountains and one of the ten best steak houses in America.
What an amazing steak. I indulged in the 20oz porterhouse. It was so good! My wife had a prime rib. Also, beef perfection! The side dishes are average. The only one that wowed me was the deep-fried mushrooms. They are great. The key lime pie is really good, too. Our server was nice and attentive. When we were there, the place was super busy. With this said, she still kept up with our needs. The restaurant itself has a lodge cabin atmosphere. Very southern. Lots of old sports memorabilia on the walls. It's an old building with lots of character. I enjoyed my visit. I will go back on special occasions.
Lodge style family steakhouse with great prime rib, seafood, and desserts. Bring your own wine for a service fee of 2.50 per person!
I absolutely loved this local steakhouse! Everything was delicious! Me & my little fella loved it! He had a sweet potato and some of my shrimp 🍤 😋 😍 and I had the shrimp he allowed me as well as a salad, broccoli casserole, and button mushrooms! They also had Dr. Pepper and large glasses with crushed ice which are all always a personal favorite! The Red Velvet Cake was also delicious! I would definitely come back here the next time I am in Knoxville! My only complaint was that my server, who received a $23.+ tip ($11 and change on card plus $12 cash) on a tab of $58.+ (roughly a 40% tip) took it upon herself to give herself a $17 and change tip on my card. I would say it was a simple mistake with my handwriting if not for the fact I put my total as $70 on the check.
Kinda has that cracker barrel vibe. Food was delicious. We got the 12oz NY Sirloin Strip & 2 12oz Slow Roasted Prime Rib each got a side salad & baked potato. Service was good, Sweet tea was definitely sweet. Recommend if you're in the area. They have plenty of parking in the back of the restaurant.
Not my kind of steakhouse :( It’s a cute place with a long history but my issue is the way they serve beef. As you can see in the pictures, the filet wasn’t really a filet and it wasn’t medium as I requested. In fact, one part of it was medium temp and the other was way too rare for me. I didn’t finish it. Another issue is the flavor: they use a marinade that they buy in the store and that’s how they serve all their steaks. That flavor on the beef that I tasted was so artificial and full of preservatives that I could tell it’d make me sick if I finished my steak. I’d rather have a pure flavor on the beef. Also, I know we’re in the south but not everything has to be deep fried in the appetizers, and I’m fairly convinced the cheese sticks were frozen from the store; it had a different breading than other items on the sample platter. The salad was plain and I truly don’t get the point of the salt crackers and cheese spread. I tried it but again, very artificial flavor. Altogether for this we paid $100 for 2 people and I find it rather annoying. The quality of food isn’t worth the price, although our waitress did a very good job. I won’t ever be going back again.
